Entry Console Table Update

Two years ago, I found this darling little console table at Hobby Lobby. Originally $129 smackeroos, I was able to nab it for $20. That, in my opinion, is a bonus buy.

Sadly, this before picture does not include the
drawer.
The console table is a little wobbly and two of the legs are cracked; but truthfully I am not one looking for perfection at $20. Functional is more my aim, throw in some character, and that all sounds pretty good to me.

I knew I wanted to paint this table when I bought it; but it's taken me two years (like all my other projects) to finally get around to work on it.

My very best helper, my husband, sanded it for me yesterday. I would have done it; but he says that he didn't want to hear me complain about "too much work". I think he just enjoys playing with the sander; but honestly, he's just an excellent helper.

I started priming before the Labor Day BBQ we attended yesterday and finished this morning. Later, this afternoon I added one coat of Sherwin Williams SW6510 Loyal Blue.

Even though, I primed really well, I pretty much anticipate this puppy will take three coats of this paint. Love this color; but I've worked with it before and it typically requires three coats; but I'm still hoping I can get by with maybe just two.

The drawer didn't make it in this picture either.
Hold out for the big reveal!

The drawer on this table came with two little antique brass knobs. I've considered just spray painting them like I did the hardware that came on our buffet; but I'd like to add something fun and colorful, too. I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and found a pair of knobs on clearance for $2.60.

This particular knob from Anthropologie might be a little more appropriate (or cute anyway). Or this one.

I'll just have to try the clearance pair on for size and then, decide if I want to splurge a little on some fancy schmancy hardware from Anthropologie or not.

Tomorrow, I plan to finish the table and will post pictures when I've got the table back in it's place.

What fun projects do you have going on?
