Almost Done . . .

Many thanks goes to my darling husband. He took time from his schedule to contribute to this project's transformation by sanding all six chairs for me. He also removed the seats from each chair, too.
In an effort to save some cash and maintain the character of the furniture/a sense of nostaliga, I decided to keep the existing hardware; however, with a modern twist.
Using a $4.00 can of spray paint, we turned these antique brass handles into modern brushed nickel.
For some reason, the buffet drawers were designed to either 1) not be removed; or 2) require the help of a rocket scientist to be removed. Since the drawers could not be removed, we had to wait until the paint had dried on the buffet to pull out the drawers and paint the tops and sides, leaving it with a "finished" appearance.
My mother and I painted the first coat on all six chairs before taking off to look for fabric, upholstery batting, and muslin.
The plan was to paint the second coat this evening;
but like plans often do, they changed.
Tomorrow is another day, though. Painting a second coat should not take very long. Then, we just need to cover the chairs, attach the newly covered seats, add the hardware to the buffet, and move it all indoors!

I am so excited to nearly be finished!
