Washi Tape

I bought some ribbon and a glue gun at Walmart the other day with an idea in mind for my centerpiece for Afternoon Tea. The inspiration came from a picture at a wedding reception of centerpieces used on the dinner tables that I saw on the Hostess Blog. I still need to go to Hobby Lobby and Michael's to find the rest of the components for my centerpiece design, but I think it will come together quite nicely. I hope anyway.

So today I thought I would take a gander through my favorites and see what is new in the world and the Hostess Blog had the coolest DIY project - well, they usually have tons of fab ideas, but this one is really fun and looks so simple! It involves washi tape. Has anyone ever used or heard of washi tape? It is my understanding it is basically fancy masking tape. I loved the examples they showed on the Hostess Blog's website with vases and even paper cups. Now my latest obsession is all things washi tape. One of the websites recommended to check out is Cute Tape. I am already dreaming of all the things I can cover in washi tape!

In my other arts and crafts ventures, I am designing an invitation for Afternoon Tea. The design phase started last night, but sleep was calling so I do not have a draft to show off just yet. I also plan to make a matching menus that will be part of each place setting. Making a trip to Hobby Lobby/Gordmans to look for small picture frames that, as I have stated before, I will use as placecard holders is also on my list of things to do.
